Yoga and Independence

Independence Day, informally known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the Declaration of Independence, which was ratified by the Second Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, establishing the United States of America.

Independence is defined as "the quality or state of being independent: freedom from outside control or support. The state of wanting or being able to do things for yourself and make your own decisions, without help or influence from other people."

Yoga is an amazing way to gain balance, strength and flexibility all the while leading to a sense of freedom and independence. This happens in a number of ways:

Physical freedom

Yoga can help reduce inflammation and tension in the body, which can improve mobility and alleviate pain and stiffness in muscles and joints. This can help older adults feel more confident and comfortable in their movements.

Mental freedom

Yoga can help people free themselves from self-limiting beliefs and the shackles of their minds. It can also help people rediscover a sense of wholeness in their lives.

Spiritual freedom

Yoga can help people live in harmony with the spiritual truth at the core of their being, and become less dependent on outside sources for happiness.

Yoga helps reduce inflammation and tension in the body, which can alleviate pain and stiffness in the muscles and joints.

Overall, practicing a yoga flow regularly can help everyone, especially elderly adults, feel more comfortable and confident in their movements, leading to a greater sense of freedom and independence.
